Policy on event presentation availability

AQMLM Directors have reviewed the policy on how copies of presentations given by speakers at our activities are made available.  We considered how to make it possible for members and website account holders to have access to these materials, but felt that this should not unduly compromise attendance at our events.  We naturally felt that fully paid up members should pay lower charges for this service than others, but we also wanted to reflect our educational objectives by making all materials freely available to all at a later date. 

It should be noted that:

  • payments for the presentations are not made wholly or in part to the presenters, but go into general funds to support the AQMLM organisation and its activities
  • where presenters request that their presentations are made freely available to all, this will be honoured

Our revised policy is set out below:

  • All attendees at an event will have free access to pdf copies of presentations (where permitted by the author), irrespective of their membership status.  Files will be emailed on personal application
  • Members and website account holders who were not able to attend the event, will be offered the opportunity to purchase pdf copies of presentations immediately after the event for a charge of 50% of the relevant event fee rounded up to the nearest £5.  Thus if the member and non-member fees were £60 and £80 respectively, the fees for the presentations would be £30 and £40.  Products will be created for online purchase, or by email after payment by cheque or bank transfer
  • One year after the event, all presentations will be placed in a publicly available archive area for free download by all website account holders
