Venue & Travel

Conference Facilities Entrance BioHub Reception

The usual venue for our events is Birmingham Research Park, B15 2SQ.  Link to Google map.  Please sign in at the BioHub Reception, then proceed to the entrance to the Conference facilities. Some parking places may be available but are not guaranteed.  If you do manage to park at the Research Park, you must give your car registration number to BioHub Reception or you may be ticketed by the car park company.  If not, the University Pritchatts Road pay & display car park - satnav B15 2QU - is two minutes walk away.   We recommend that you travel by train, change at New Street Station for the Longbridge or Redditch service and travel two stops to University Station which is five minutes walk from the venue.

The table below shows the charges for the four individual meetings in 2017 and will apply for 2018 as wellThese fees are designed to encourage online or BACS payments by individuals well in advance (with employer re-imbursement) and discourage late payments by employers.  If these arrangements cause you difficulties, please contact us and we will try to help.

The same fees will apply in 2018!


Multiple Meeting Registration Discounts (MMRD)

We are once again providing a substantial benefit for fully paid up AQMLM members paying online or by BACS, whereby up to four persons at the same institution will be able to register for up to four meetings during 2018 - up to 16 places altogether for an average cost of £35.00.  The discounts are shown in the table below:

The same discount structure will apply in 2018!

To apply for this discount system, please sign into your account and then go here, read the requirements carefully and submit the form.  (The form response fields will only be visible if you are signed in and are a fully paid up AQMLM member.)  We will process the application and contact the applicant by email with instructions for payment.   

Account holder full membership upgrades

All account holder non-members attending our events are upgraded to full member at no extra cost for the remainder of the subscription year.  If the event is after 1st July, membership is extended for the whole of the following subscription year.

Purchasing arrangements

  • Please follow the individual meeting links below (when posted with the Programme and registration opens) for online purchase with a credit card via PayPal (no PayPal account needed)
  • To pay by cheque or electronic bank transfer, please email through the Contact form for instructions.

Copies of Presentations
Please go to the Downloads page for information on how meeting attendees may obtain pdfs of presentations free of charge.  Rules have recently been amended to allow full AQMLM members to access presentations of meeting they did not attend in previous years.


Dates & proposed topics for events in 2018

Revised Programme (2nd May 2018): 

We are bringing the Audit event forward to September and dividing it into two sessions as indicated below.  Attendees will be invited to register for both.  The "Change and Risk Management" Workshop is now moved to the December date.  Those who have registered for four meetings under the MMRD system, may attend all of the following events.

"The Challenge of Multi-Site Quality Management"

Wednesday 13th June 2018

This Workshop will focus on all aspects of quality management across multiple sites.

Proposed elements of the Workshop:

We intend to have a some formal presentations including:

  • UKAS requirements - John Ringrow (UKAS)
  • NHSI perspective - David Wells, Head of Pathology Services Consolidation. (NHSI)

then a series of Workshop / networking sessions led by AQMLM Directors, including:

  • Personnel & training
  • Audit; Corrective & Preventive actions
  • Document Control
  • Procurement & contracts
  • IQC & EQA
  • POCT
  • Informatics & data integration

Those who registered and paid for the cancelled "Value Proposition" Seminar, may apply their registrations to this Workshop; they should advise us accordingly.

If you have signed up for this Seminar using the MMRD discount system and you have renewed your subscription for 2017-2018, you need do nothing - you are automatically registered. If you have not yet renewed your subscription, don’t worry, your place is still reserved, just renew asap.

If you are a fully paid up AQMLM member, please sign into your account and click here to pay the members fee of £50 online with a credit card via PayPal (Paypal account not required).

If you are not a full AQMLM member but have an AQMLM website account, please sign into your account and click here to pay the non-members fee of £75 online with a credit card via PayPal (Paypal account not required).
